Bug out ?
Boy with all of the press on grid down or power outages nowadays. I continue to hear about bugging out. Meaning to leave the cities and head for the Hills and safety!
This might sound like a lot more fun than it really might be. But just in case this is on your radar, here are a few things to consider,if you are looking for land to “bug out” on.
1. Where ever you go look for fresh water supplies. Can’t live without water.
2. If there is no power make sure you have a good avenue for solar power.
3. Make sure you have year around access. It would be bad to head out to your bugout pad only to find out you can only get there during certain times of the year.
4. Consider things like shelter, heat, is there any firewood or other resources to use for heating? What about food supplies, are there any natural supplies of food, fish, game, edible plants? Not that we all need to be headed for the hills and that armagedon is imminent, but if you do think you may need this type of property, these are just a few of the more important items you may want to make sure are available on your land.
Idaho has lots of areas where these types of properties are available, Being an Idaho native, I am familiar with many properties that would fit the Bill. So if bugging out is in your future, give me a howl and maybe I can help you find just the right retreat to keep you safe and comfy in the face of even a small natural disaster. Oh and by the way, don’t forget the bug spray!
